'Goes Without Saying,' Bunker Gallery, 16th May - 22nd June 2019
Boundless image production has drawn us into an unhealthy relationship with pictures. Desires are being manipulated and we are complicit, it is so naturalised. We are aware, but we revel in it: Dive further in, gorge yourself, be overwhelmed.
Our digital life is an enabler in this parade of appetites but we wouldn't exist without pictures. They are the tool to reinforce mythologies that are the foundations for societies, psychologies and networks. This is the process of living, the way we treat each other. It is evolutionary, we need idols and icons, and so your anxieties and neuroses are inevitable; it is obvious, it goes without saying.
